Having a backup power source in the event of an emergency is very important and can be life saving to those people with severe medical conditions. It can also be very convenient for the self-sufficient types who DIY a lot. Here is my review: ACOPowers solar generator with solar panel.
Features of the ACOPower solar generator with solar panel
The solar generator itself is very light weight which is a plus because it makes it very portable, easy to move around as needed and because it uses a solar source for energy it is very quiet.
It has high speed MPPT charging technology so charging it only takes about 8 hours. For the amount of power it can store and put out that is really good. The MPPT technology allows for 99.99% solar efficiency to make best use of the energy it resources from the sun.
The battery capacity is 462wh (3.7v/124,800mAh) being able to power a couple devices or appliances for hours in an emergency. It also has a built in loud speaker and a high power 36 LED chip light.
For energy output or charging it features:
-
- 3- USB ports for charging small devices like phones and such
- 3- DC plugs for other devices
- 2- AC 110v plugs for laptops, minifridge or lighting
- 1- 12v car style plug
Pros and Cons
Some good things about this product is all the features it has to offer like the built in area light, how quiet the generator is as opposed to motor generators and that it is lightweight. These are the more obvious pros of this product.
It’s fast charging technology and long lasting battery as well as having so many plug options making it pretty versatile are other pluses, not to mention that with solar power you can have unlimited free energy courtesy of the sun!
The company, ACOPower has really good customer service and super fast delivery. They are reasonably priced at $849 and they will even let you set up a payment plan by splitting your payments into 3 payments.
Some of the downsides of this product are that the warranties they offer are a little short being only 1 year for the generator and 6 months for the solar panel and that on cloudy days, yes the panel cans till produce energy but only at about 25 – 30 % of the rate of a perfectly sunny day.
Over all I would say this is a really good product for a relatively young technology company. I would suggest this product for anyones emergency preparedness list or self-sufficiency plans.
